English, French, Latin and Spanish are offered as foreign languages. The language sequence is: English from grade 5, French. Spanish or Latin from grade 6.
The teaching contents are aligned with the Hessian lesson plan, with some subjects adding additional lessons.
The daily study time is supervised by pedagogical staff, and children with reading, calculation or arithmetic problems or difficulty focussing have a learning therapist available.
The teaching programme at the Hermann-Lietz school also comprises the "guilds" and "practical work".
